The Barli Museum was inaugurated on October 26, 1992 as a means to get to know one of Bandung's leading painters, Barli Sasmitawinata. Here we can see the development of Barli art style from time to time, from the flow of realism, from the beginning of Barli step as a painter, impressionism and expressionism. But unfortunately his works before the forties we can not enjoy because lost during the revolution.
The ground floor of the building is called Agung's floor, taken from his son's name, used for educational places, painting lessons, discussions, and art performances. The first floor is called Nakisbandiah, the name of his second wife married in 1992, and used for exhibition space. The wing is named Chandra's Gallery which is used for exhibition space. The second floor is named Atikah room, keeps a collection of options and special collections. Behind the main building there is also another building which also consists of 3 floors but either used as a studio or warehouse, which is definitely not open to the public.
Back to the first floor, Chandra's Gallery is housed in private collections belonging to Barli's grandson, Mr. Adit's name, which turns out to be a hobby of collecting old vintage toys. Instead of painting exhibitions, I even more excited ngeliatin collection of these toys. Not because the painting is not good and interesting ga lho ya, but more because I am more able to associate myself with the toys that I have ever had or even just want to have but not kesampean because of the expensive price.
